Most of the
wood spirits are carved from knots gathered in the beautiful Oregon Cascade
mountains. The knots generally from Douglas-Fir, Sugar Pine, Redwood and Cedar
trees that grow in these rugged mountains. Once the tree has fallen and
decomposed due to time and the elements, all that remains are the pitch filled
knots that decompose at a much slower rate and are lying about on the forest
floor.
